Color

The color picker is in the brush tab. Pick the hue on the strip, then the brightness and saturation in the field. Most tools paint with this primary color.

On phones, tap the color circle on the canvas to open the picker.

Next to the primary color is the Secondary Color. Click it, or press X, to swap the two colors. Keep a second color ready this way, for example for highlights or for erasing with white.

To pick a color from the canvas:

  • Hold Alt and click, or
  • click with the right mouse button, or
  • click the Eyedropper button, then click the canvas.

In the Select Tool, Alt subtracts from the selection instead. Use the right mouse button there.

Hold Ctrl + Alt (Cmd + Alt on a Mac) to open a small color picker right at your pointer, with Size and Opacity sliders. Release the keys to close it. This way you don’t have to move to the panel while drawing.

On some systems, Ctrl + Alt is used by the operating system or the keyboard layout. Then the HUD may not open.

Click the # button to open Manual Color Input. There you can type or copy a hex code, or set the red, green, and blue values.

You can also paste a hex code like #ff8800 or #f80 anywhere in Kleki with Ctrl + V. It becomes your primary color.
